Requirements for Admission

Applicants are expected to bring:

  • Any national diploma or university degree is acceptable.
    A matriculation certificate is required, as well as at least five years of relevant full-time work experience.
    Please keep in mind that applicants who have not completed matriculation may enter the Management Development Programme by following the University’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. Click here for more information on the RPL process.

Computer fundamentals:

  • You should be able to use your computer and complete basic tasks.
    Email and file administration (access, create, edit, save, upload and download documents)
    Should be able to create and edit documents using a word processing program.
    Should be capable of basic web browsing.

Improvement of Management Skills

This module’s goals are to improve your speaking, writing, listening, reading, and life skills.

After completing the course, the student will have demonstrated their ability in:

  • Managing their own and cooperative learning processes and confidently expressing well-informed points of view
  • Professionally composing various types of well-structured academic and business writing (e.g., business correspondence, assignments).
  • Using academic reading skills in a variety of contexts (e.g. textbooks and articles in journals, newspapers, or magazines)
  • In both oral and written communication, use accurate and appropriate language.
  • Delivering well-crafted oral presentations and expressing coherent, well-informed points of view in oral discussions
  • Successfully employing cross-cultural communication strategies in oral communication
  • Using planning techniques to demonstrate their ability to effectively manage learning time

At the conclusion of the module, applicants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of management and business concepts.
  • Apply management principles through personal and group exercises based on student experience, self-assessment, work applications, and situational management techniques.

This module covers all of the important management topics and concepts. It has a broad scope, and key outcomes are reinforced throughout the module. The business is portrayed as a system, and managers must operate within a network of relationships.

Business Finance

The student will be able to: at the end of the module:

  • Compute financial management mathematical calculations
  • Descriptive statistics and graphs should be interpreted.
  • Financial statements must be analyzed and interpreted.
  • Show that you understand how to use analytical techniques in finance.

  • Percentages and how they are used
  • Basic statistics and graphs
  • Concepts of financial management
  • Analysis and financial statements (ratios)

  • Share and bond valuation
  • Budgeting, cash flow, and working capital management
  • Capital planning
Information Systems Fundamentals
  • The course is designed to provide foundational skills in the use of information systems and information technology as a personal productivity tool, as well as in organizational decision-making and problem-solving.
After finishing the course, the student will be able to demonstrate:
  • (a) The ability to use personal computer technology effectively and productively (b) How to use the computer to organize and manage personal information (c) The role of information systems in supporting organizational operations and decision-making (d) An understanding of the information systems department’s place in organizations

Main point:

Using information systems (IS) and information technology to make decisions and solve problems. The module gives an overview of business information systems, including:

  • Systems for transaction processing
  • Management by Function IS
  • System development and end-user computing
  • Extensive experience with PC-based tools such as Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and the internet.

Fees for programs

Tuition for our online program is calculated per seven-week module. You can now enroll and pay per module rather than paying your entire tuition upfront.

  • The number of modules is four.
  • The fee for each module is R5 820.
  • The total tuition fee is R23 280*.

*Fees are subject to annual adjustment.
