University of the Western Cape eligibility requirements for this academic year. The above web portal has listed the various requirements applicants must fulfill in order to be given a chance to enroll in the university.

General Conditions for Admission to UWC

Bachelor’s Degree Admission Requirements: A National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi with an achievement rating of 4 (Adequate achievement, 50-59 percent) or better in four subjects selected from the following acknowledged 20-credit NSC subjects (known as the “designated subject list”) is the minimum admission requirement.
Admission requirements for a diploma: A National Senior Certificate with an achievement rating of 3 (moderate achievement, 40–49 percent) or higher in four recognized NSC 20-credit subjects, as certified by Umalusi, is the minimal requirement for admission.
Admission Requirements for Higher Certificates: A National Senior Certificate issued by Umalusi is the minimal requirement for admission.

The Point System for UWC will employ a weighted system for determining points for admission to degree and diploma programs, as described as follows:
