UCT Online Application fee 2024-2025

The University of Cape Town (UCT) charges an online application fee for undergraduate, postgraduate, and Graduate School of Business (GSB) programs. It is required to pay the fee when submitting the application.

Prospective Students must Note
To pay the application fees at UCT, students should remember to add the reference number to the appropriate bank form. Payments must be made in South African Rands, unless applying for GSB qualifications from outside the SADC region, in which case payments should be made in US dollars. However, UCT graduates are not required to pay an application fee unless they are applying for GSB qualifications.

E.g. GSB Betty Brown - When paying the application fees, students must ensure to include the reference number on the appropriate bank form. The payment must be made in South African Rands, except for students applying for GSB qualifications from outside the SADC region, where payment should be made in US dollars. However, UCT graduates are exempt from paying an application fee, except when applying for GSB qualifications.
Acceptance deposit
The Graduate School of Business at UCT requires a non-refundable acceptance deposit for certain programs. The deposit must be paid upon acceptance and cannot be refunded. The amount of the deposit varies depending on the program and will be credited to the student’s fee account.

UCT Tuition fees
At UCT, students must pay tuition fees for each course they are enrolled in, and the fee amount varies depending on the course. The tuition fees cover the following expenses:
- registration
- all charges for classes, tutorials and laboratories
- ordinary university examinations
- library access
- compulsory personal accident insurance
- the use of general sporting facilities
- in the case of medical students, hospital fees for clinical instruction.
It should be emphasized that UCT students are required to pay separate fees to join any clubs or societies, in addition to their tuition fees.
