UCT Eligibility Admission Requirements 2024-2025

Prospective students should carefully review the admission requirements for UCT’s undergraduate programs, as meeting these requirements is crucial for acceptance into the university. The following are the eligibility requirements for admission to UCT’s undergraduate programs.
UCT Eligibility Admission Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes.
Prospective students who wish to be admitted into higher certificate, diploma, or degree programs at the University of Cape Town (UCT) must have met the National Senior Certificate (NSC) requirements. However, if they are 23 years or older and have a Grade 12 certificate, they may be eligible for a mature age exemption, subject to approval from the relevant faculty office. It is worth noting that applicants with mature age exemption are not eligible for programs in the Faculties of Health Sciences or Law. For students with non-South African secondary school leaving certificates, they must meet the requirements for matriculation exemption. All applicants must also meet the minimum admission criteria for the program/s they wish to apply for in the final secondary school leaving assessment.
- All applicants must meet certain requirements in order to be admitted to the program of their choice. These requirements include passing the APS, FPS, or WPS exam (depending on the program), achieving certain performance levels in the required secondary school subjects, passing any applicable NBT components, and meeting any other program-specific requirements listed in the faculty sections.
