Mbombela is home to the public South African university known as the University of Mpumalanga (UMP). The UMP registration procedure consists of the following steps:

• Step 1: Procedure for Application Prospective students are required to submit an online or printed application form, certified copies of their academic records, identification documents, and any other required documents, to the university. Installment of the application charge is additionally required.
  Step 2: Acceptance Confirmation The university will send an acceptance letter to successful applicants who meet the admission requirements after the application has been reviewed and evaluated. Important details about the registration process, such as registration dates and deadlines, will be included in the acceptance letter.
  Step 3: Payment of Fees for Registration To be admitted to the university, students must pay their registration fees by the due date. Tuition, housing, and any other university-mandated fees are included in the registration fee.
  Step 4: Course Enrollment After paying the registration fees, students must use the university’s student portal to register for the upcoming semester. Course selection is determined by the university’s additional requirements and the program to which they have been admitted.
  Step 5: Orientation Week The university will hold an orientation week for new students following the completion of the registration process. Students will have the opportunity to interact with their peers and university staff during orientation week, which will also provide crucial information about the university, its facilities, and its policies.
